One of my very favorite top producing salespeople worked for Star Furniture in Houston for years. When she first arrived there, she leap-frogged over the longstanding #1 salesperson and never looked back. As I am always interested in what makes top producers such consistent high writers, I asked her what she thought contributed to her success. “The customers come in to buy, or else why would they come in? We live in Houston…there are many other things they could be doing…they are here because they need something and I am here to help them to get that.” When I asked her what her favorite buying signal was, she said “Their hand on the front door”. I just LOVE that!
